Hey guys, meet Kennedi Harris, the CEO and owner of K- Lock Products. She's 7 years old and as Hannah Dennis would say, She has that Black Girl Magic.
What is the story behind your brand? K-lock’s inception began when Kennedi was misplaced by school officials due to a mix up in names. She was taken out of the county and her parents were lied to concerning her location. After making local and national news Kennedi was devastated.
Starting this business helped Kennedi cope with the effects of being misplaced and having a total mistrust of the school system. It took her mind away from things as she enjoyed adding a personal touch to each product. K-lock also has African American dolls available. Kennedi loves dolls and wanted to market one that looks similar to her with beautiful natural hair. She created the lockets to properly identify kids in school, daycares and on field trips. She also has signature t-shirts, hats, lip balm, and lotions.
What are your plans for the brand for 2018? In 2018 we will be launching new dolls, earrings and other new products. We are also planning events, pop up shops and appearances.
Outside of your brand and product; what are do you do for fun? I like to travel with my family for fun. In 2017 we visited Costa Rica and my brother and I had the most fun ever! We rode Atvs along the beach as well as visiting the volcanic hot springs. Next summer we are going to Jamaica.
How would you like to win one of these beautiful lockets? All you have to do is follow Kickin it With Keion and K Lock Products and Kennedi will select a winner on January 31st and announce the winner on February 1st. How easy is that?
Thank you for reading and remember to be great, be different and be YOU!
