This is a beginner coding workshop for boys ages 7-17. The students will utilize Scratch, a graphical programming language, to program their very own animation. The goal is to introduce students to the process of design where they start with an idea, create a prototype, experiment with it, and modify/redesign it. Creating projects in Scratch helps students gain an understanding and begin to develop fluency with digital technology.
The students will also receive instruction from Georgia Tech alum and current SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) graphic animator, Ryan Adkins.
We have a VERY limited number of laptop computers; please have your son bring a laptop (& power cord) if you have one.
****PLEASE NOTE**** It is a requirement that all boys wear their 100 Boys of Code t-shirt to each STEM workshop. Please purchase a t-shirt if your son does not have one (and include your son's size; they come in youth sizes).
Tickets are non-refundable; if your son is unable to attend the workshop, your registration fee will serve as a donation in support of the programs offered by 100 Boys of Code Inc. Click here to register.
